If this translation and the Korean text differ, the Korean text prevails.
Cote Feed is an iOS and Android app that gathers posts from several communities into one feed and shows each original page as it is, without account registration.
The operator does not accept account registration and does not collect or store identity information such as a name or phone number.
Records such as board subscriptions, read state, and bookmarks are stored on the user's device.
When the user uses the feed, inquiries, ads, backup, or similar features, the device or the relevant business may process the information below.
Operator: Cote Feed operator (individual)
Contact: dev.ggoddu@gmail.com
1. Information we collect
The operator collects and stores no personal information in a member account. Information that may be stored on the device while the app is used, or sent outside the device for a feature, is as follows.
- Information stored on the device: Community and board subscriptions, read state, bookmarks and recent visits, filters and settings, and usage statistics. These are records the user enters or creates, and they are not uploaded to a member database on the operator's server.
- Feed and parser API: Identifiers of subscribed boards, and information needed for list and parser requests. If original HTML is uploaded for parsing, that document may be processed temporarily. An IP address may reach the server while a request is handled.
- Inquiries (optional): If the user uses the in-app inquiry feature, the message and device information (app version and OS version) may be delivered to the operator's inquiry channel. If the user writes by email, that address and the message are used to respond.
- Login session (optional): If the user logs in to an original site, that cookie is stored in the device WebView and is not uploaded to the operator's server.
- Backup (optional): On iOS, if the user turns on iCloud sync or file backup, the backup file is stored in iCloud for that Apple ID or in the file location the user chooses. On Android, the user can export and import a file. WebView cookies are not backed up.
- Advertising: A Google AdMob banner may appear on the app's list and original-page screens. Watching a short ad may hide that banner for a while. iOS asks for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) once. Whether the user allows or denies it, the app currently requests only non-personalized ads. On Android, an advertising ID may be passed to Google AdMob, and the app requests only non-personalized ads.
- Ad-removal purchase (optional): On iOS and Android, the user can make a one-time purchase that removes the app's own banners. The product name on screen is “Premium (permanent ad removal)”. The App Store or Google Play processes the payment, and the operator does not receive card information. The operator checks only whether that purchase is active, and that status is stored on the device. The purchase can be restored in Settings > Ads. If a store reports that the purchase is no longer active, the banners are shown again. Refunds follow each store's procedure and are read together with the withdrawal and refund clause of the terms. Hiding the banners for one hour at a time, up to three hours, by watching a short ad is separate from this purchase.
- On-device translation (iOS 18 and later, optional): Article text, feed titles, and board names are translated on the device. The translation and the original are not sent to the operator's server and are not placed in the backup file. If a language model is not present, the operating system may show a download prompt. This feature is not available on Android or on iOS 17.
- Image text recognition (iOS 18 and later, optional): The image file is received from the address where that image is hosted, and the text is then read on the device. Recognized text is not sent to the operator's server and is not placed in the backup file. This feature is not available on Android or on iOS 17.
- Home Screen widget (iOS): The feed set and board names shown on the widget remain only in the app-group storage on the device and are not sent to the operator.
2. Retention and deletion
Records stored on the device are kept on that device until the user deletes the item or deletes the app. iCloud and file backups follow the user's Apple ID and the storage location.
Connection information related to API requests is processed to the extent needed to provide the service and prevent abuse. Inquiry contents are deleted after the response is finished.
3. Use of external services
The following businesses may process information to the extent the corresponding feature is used, and their servers may be outside the Republic of Korea.
- Cloudflare: API hosting. Board identifiers, request IP addresses, and, where applicable, documents for parsing.
- Google (AdMob): Serving banners and optional watched ads. On Android, an advertising ID may be included. The app requests only non-personalized ads.
- Apple: App Store, payment for the ad-removal purchase, and, if the user turns it on, iCloud sync and files.
- Google (Play): Payment for the ad-removal purchase.
- Each community site: When an original page is shown or the user logs in, that site's policy applies.
4. Advertising
Third-party ads may appear on the app's list and original-page screens. iOS asks for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) once. Regardless of the answer, the app currently requests only non-personalized ads. On Android, an advertising ID may be passed to Google, and the app likewise requests only non-personalized ads. Ads inside an original page follow that community site's policy, and the operator does not hide or change them.
Google's ad-interest settings can be reviewed in Google ad settings.
5. Children under 14
This app is not directed at children under 14, and it does not collect personal information of children under 14.
6. Your rights and how to exercise them
Records stored on the device can be viewed, corrected, and deleted in the app. Records can also be removed by deleting the app or by deleting the backup file. Web login cookies and the web cache can be cleared in Settings.
Other inquiries may be sent to dev.ggoddu@gmail.com.

If the contents of this policy change, the effective date on this page is revised. Users can review the changes through the link posted in the app's settings.
If the app's features change, the effective date on this page is updated.
